Here at Applewood, we believe in championing not only the children enrolled in our center but also the community around us. Through ongoing outreach efforts, we aim to make a positive impact while instilling values of empathy and respect in our students.
Food Drive for the Sonshine Soup Kitchen
Each year, Applewood hosts a food drive to support the Sonshine Soup Kitchen in Derry, NH. Families and children are encouraged to contribute non-perishable food items, which we collect and donate to this vital local organization. Together, we help ensure that our neighbors in need have access to nourishing meals.
Mitten Tree for Families in Transition
During the holiday season, we set up a Mitten Tree in our foyer to support Families in Transition in Manchester, NH. Families are invited to place mittens on the tree, which are then distributed to underprivileged families in the area. This heartwarming tradition teaches our children the joy of giving and brings warmth to those who need it most.
By participating in these initiatives, our Applewood families play a key role in fostering a stronger, more compassionate community.
